JHONATTAN VEGAS

 Vegas (1st/-17) 64 73 67 270 (-14) • Wins the 3M Open by one stroke, earning his fourth PGA TOUR title comes at the age of 39 years, 11 months, 9 days in his 299th start • After a T2 in his most recent 3M Open start of 2021, birdied the 72nd hole to close with a 1-under 71 to win and avoid sudden death with Max Greyserman  

Becomes the first international winner of the 3M Open (Venezuela) • Becomes the first player in tournament history with a win and a runner-up (2021) 

MATT KUCHAR

(T3/-15) followed a third-round 8-under 63 with a an even-par 71 in his bid for a 10th career PGA TOUR title; was seeking his first title since the 2019 Sony Open in Hawaii (a span of 5 years, 196 days); with the finish, moves from No. 153 in the FedExCup to 111th;  is the only player to qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs each year since the inception of the FedExCup in 2007; top 70 after the Wyndham Championship 

MAVERICK MCNEALY

Making his third start in the 3M Open, Maverick McNealy (T3/-15) followed a third-round 8-under 63 up with a 1-under 70 in his bid to become the 11th first-time winner this season and join inaugural champion Matthew Wolff (2019) as the only players to win the 3M Open in their tournament debut 

MAX GREYSERMAN

PGA TOUR rookie Max Greyserman (2nd/-16) birdied six of his last nine holes to finish solo-second, his career-best result on TOUR, en route to an 8-under 63, tying Cameron Champ for the low round of the day; the 63 marks also his lowest score on TOUR in 21 career starts (25 rounds); the finish marks his third top 10 of the season and second in individual stroke-play events: T7/Texas Children’s Houston Open, T4/Zurich Classic of New Orleans (parterning with Nico Echavarria); with the finish, jumps from 87th in the FedExCup to No. 63

    Would earn his 10th career PGA TOUR title and first since winning twice during the 2018-19 season (World Wide Technology Championship, Sony Open in Hawaii) 

    At age 46 years, 1 month, 7 days, would be the oldest winner on TOUR since Phil Mickelson at the 2021 PGA Championship (50 years, 11 months, 7 days)

      NEAL SHIPLEY

        (T42/-3) made the turn in the second round at 2-over for the tournament before carding a 5-under 30 on  the front nine (his second nine) to make the cut; Shipley, who made his first TOUR start as a professional at the Rocket  Mortgage Classic in June, has now made six cuts in seven starts this season (four in five as a professional), highlighted by  a T6 at the ISCO Championship (MC/John Deere Classic)

            LEE HODGES

             After setting his career-best 127 through 36 holes on the strength of a 63-64 start, offset two bogeys with two birdies to  make the turn with an even-par 35; on the inward nine, added birdies at 10, 11, 13, 16 and 18 to sign for a 5-under 66 

             Enters the week at No. 74 in the FedExCup standings, 15 points behind No. 70 (K.H. Lee); top 70 after next week’s  Wyndham Championship advance to the Playoffs; projected to move to No. 33 with a win 

            JT POSTON

             Making his third start in the 3M Open (T28/2021, T11/2022), J.T. Poston (2 nd/-15) posted a 5-under 66 for the third  consecutive round; his only two bogeys through 54 holes came at Nos. 3 and 16 in round one; began this week after netting  T6 finishes in two of his last three starts at the John Deere Classic and the following week’s Genesis Scottish Open; finished  T41 at last week’s Open Championship 

            TONY FINAU

             As the defending champion and highest ranked player in the FedExCup, Tony Finau is solo third at 14-under 199 in his bid to  become the fourth player this season to successfully defend a title on TOUR this season and first since Scottie Scheffler  (WM Phoenix Open) 

            AARON BADDELEY

             With improved scores each round, Aaron Baddeley (4 th/-13) followed opening rounds of 69-66 with a 6-under 65 in round  three; best finish in three previous 3M Open starts was T23 in his first start of the 2019-20 season; began this week on the  heels of two missed cuts (Genesis Scottish Open, Barracuda Championship) 

            KEVIN YU

             On the strength of six birdies and three pars on the front nine, Chinese Taipei native Kevin Yu (T11/-10) tied his lowest 9- hole score on the PGA TOUR with a 29 (R1/2023 Travelers Championship); becomes the sixth player to shoot 29 on the  front nine at TPC Twin Cities and first since Kevin Chappell (R2/2022) 

            HIDEKI MATSUYAMA

            Hideki Matsuyama has his worst round of the tournament in Round 3. With a 73, it puts Hideki  at -7 and a long-shot to win the 2023 3M Open.

               Seeks second TOUR title after defeating Webb Simpson in a playoff to win the 2019 RSM Classic  

              KEVIN STREELMAN

               (T3/-10) posts his sixth consecutive sub-par round at TPC Twin Cities and is now 6-under in six rounds on hole No. 18 at this event (68-65-69-70-64-68); qualified for the FedExCup Playoffs in 15 consecutive seasons and currently  sits No. 120 in the FedExCup standings 

              JT POSTON

               (T3/-10) makes 12 birdies in 36 holes, with 10 of the 12 birdies coming on par-4 holes (par-3 8th/R1, par-5  12th/R1); making third start at this event (T28/2021, T11/2022) 

              STEWART CINK

               50-year-old Stewart Cink (T33/-5) posts an 11-stroke improvement, following his first-round 74 with an 8-under 63, tied for  low round of the day with Doug Ghim (T33/-5), who also cards 74-63 

              JUSTIN THOMAS

               (MC/-2) makes two double bogeys to card even-par 71 and miss his sixth cut in 19 starts this season; entered  the week at No. 75 in the FedExCup standings; top 70 after next week’s Wyndham Championship advance to the Playoffs

                 Justin Suh (T6/-6), No. 1 on the 2022 Korn Ferry Tour, made his first cut on the PGA TOUR at the 2019 3M Open (T58) 

                BRANDT SNEDEKER

                 Brandt Snedeker (T2/-7) posts his lowest round on TOUR since 2020 Shriners Children’s Open (63/R3); finished T59 at the 2022 Fortinet Championship before undergoing experimental sternum surgery on December 1 to heal a problem that has  plagued him since 2016; didn’t play again until the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday (T41); missed four cuts in  four starts heading into this week; was T11 in 2021 in his only prior start at the 3M Open 

                TONY FINAU

                 Defending champion Tony Finau (T9/-5), at No. 10 the highest ranked player in the FedExCup standings in the field this  week, was 6-under through six holes before a 1-over inward nine led to a 5-under 66 

                CHRIS STROUD

                 2021 3M Open winner Cameron Champ withdrew before the first round and was replaced by Chris Stroud 

                HIDEKI MATSUYAMA

                 Hideki Matsuyama (T2/-7) opens with a 7-under 64 for the second time in three appearances at the 3M Open; shot 64 to sit  T2 in 2019, eventually finishing T7; opened with 77 in 2022 but withdrew with a wrist injuring before the second round
