Soundset 2019 was a festival filled with many surprises. The first thing that may have surprised many festival goers was the perfect weather. Sunny and in the 70's with less humidity. It doesn't get much better than that. As the day went on, there were a few surprise guests that graced the stages. From a few of the Minnesota Vikings to the Minnesota Timberwolves Karl-Anthony Towns. KAT gave support to G-Eazy and the crowd loved it. However, the one surprise that was not planned was the cancellation of Lil Uzi Vert for the second time. There was no reason given. Even with that circumstance out of Soundset's control, they quickly bounced back by bringing in two artists to fill the time slot. DaBaby and Lil Nas X had fans forgetting about the Lil Uzi Vert cancellation.
Soundset does a good job of having a good mix of both new and classic Hip-Hop artists. Respect between the artists was quite frequent throughout this year's festival. I watched DMX as he watched and supported Tech N9ne on the Atmosphere and friends stage. He also attended a great part G-Eazy's performance on the Minneapolis Stage. Tech N9ne was side stage during Lil Wayne's performance. Support and respect of each other's talents is what is what Hip-Hop is about.
Thanks to Soundset for allowing Shout Out Minnesota to cover this year's Soundset Festival.
